Nothing much new on Staten Island. August 2011. I'm still in the summer dull. I have plans though. Of course. Only I can't talk about it. That would be stupid. There's potentially millions to be made. Out there, on the streets of Staten Island. I have plenty of ideas for projects and once it cools down, I might think some of them through. Maybe. It won't be pay phones though. Even though I think they're coming back. Pay phones are cool. One quarter and that's it. Say what you need to say. Don't bullshit.

I recently bought my first mandolin. Guess where??? I have to say that I do like the instrument. I have a feeling I should have picked it up many years ago. It keeps me more focused than the guitar. I recorded my first song with it, Honolulu by Speedy West. A steel guitar classic. I've used an old Sansui amp and Teac microphone that Trish's late aunt brought over from Japan, coming back from a humanitarian mission in Vietnam. I think it must have been the early seventies.
